Bio/Research

Logan McLeod is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, and Director of the Health Economics at Laurier research group. Dr. McLeod is also a collaborator with the Alliance for Canadian Health Outcomes Research in Diabetes (ACHORD), a Faculty Associate with the Canadian Centre for Health Economics (CCHE), and Co-Chair of the Canadian Health Economist's Study Group (CHESG).

His primary research areas include applied microeconometrics and applied microeconomic theory in the field of health economics. Specifically, his research is on the economics of primary health care and covers three specific areas: utilization of health care services, the determinants of healthy behaviours and health care financing (e.g., financial barriers to access). More broadly, McLeod is interested in how social survey and administrative data, and the application of appropriate parametric and nonparametric econometric methods, can be used to further our understanding of the economics of primary health care. His research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Canadian Journal of Economics, Applied Economics and the Journal of Health Economics.
